The Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited’s Speaker Series continues at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center, 1539 Cherry Lane Road, East Stroudsburg, when Larry Ott presents “Waterfalls of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.”

Ott’s program is a guided tour of the waterfalls on both sides of the river. On the Pennsylvania side, he will cover Raymondskill Falls; Dingmans and Silver Thread falls; Upper and Lower Hornbecks falls; the falls on Adams Creek and Toms Creek; Tumbling Waters; Caldeno Falls, Dianas Bath; and Slateford Falls. In New Jersey, he will visit Dunnfield, Van Campens, Buttermilk and Silverspray falls. Along the way, he will combine photographs with the history behind each site and tips for fishing the streams that feed them. He will also share advice on photographing waterfalls and point out some of the plants that grow in the misty splash zones at the base of the falls.
Ott is a retired life science teacher who spent 37 years in the classroom at Bangor Area Middle School. He has spent much of his free time hunting and fishing in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, so he knows the park’s streams and the falls along them firsthand.
The program is free and open to chapter members and the public. Registration is available through the Trout Unlimited events page.
