Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited Winter Fly-Tying Class Begins January 10th, 2015
(Brodheadsville, Pa. – December 19, 2014) With winter weather comes more time spent indoors; so, now is the perfect time to hone your fly-tying skills and get ready for the approach of spring fly fishing for our local trout in our hallowed Pocono streams. In its continuing effort to provide fly-tying classes and educational workshops to the general public, as well as its own members, the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited, will be offering its popular three-Saturday program to kick off its winter fly-tying schedule and new year’s activities.
On three consecutive Saturdays, beginning on January 10th, from 9 am until 12 Noon, members of Brodhead TU will be on-hand at the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center, 8050 Running Valley Road in Bartonsville, right off Route 611, to tie classic, productive trout flies and teach their favorite trout-catching patterns to the general public!
The lead instructor for this extraordinary class is Scott Cesari, past PA State Fly Tying Champion! Class instruction is absolutely free to the general public, with just a small fee of $15.00 for materials for those students who need them. The class will run on January 10th, 17th and 24th. This class will be limited to 20 students; so, early registration is a big plus!
Bring your vise and fly-tying materials, and learn how to tie flies that really catch trout from some of the best fly-tyers in the northeast, including Eric Baird, Don Baylor, Todd Burns, Will Daskal, and John Smith.
For more information and registration, contact Brodhead TU Vice-President Will Daskal at 610-381-6188 or check out the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited’s informative website which is just a click away at http://www.BrodheadTU.org.
The new website, redesigned and maintained by Webmaster Russ Thrall, keeps track of all things fly-fishing in the Poconos. So, if you’re a fly fisher or even just a general angler who frequents our Pocono streams, this is the site that you’ll want to visit often.
